Mind and Body Connection

Internal Family Systems Therapy

The goal of IFS is to help you explore and work with all parts of yourself, resolving inner conflicts and achieving a sense of self-awareness and self-compassion.
In my counselling practice, I use the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach with deep compassion and respect for every part of who you are. IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts”—each with its own perspective, emotions, and role. Some of these parts may carry pain, while others work hard to protect you from further hurt. At the core, however, is your true Self—calm, curious, and capable of healing.

In our sessions, I create a safe and supportive space where all parts of you are welcome. Rather than pushing away uncomfortable thoughts or feelings, we gently turn toward them with curiosity and care. This approach helps you build inner trust, soften self-criticism, and reconnect with the inner wisdom that can guide your healing.

Couples Counselling

When relationships feel stuck in conflict or distance, it’s rarely about who’s right or wrong — it’s about the patterns that keep you from feeling safe and heard.

I use therapy approaches, such as emotionally focused therapy to help couples recognize and gently shift hurtful patterns into moments of understanding and connection.

During the first few sessions, we’ll explore how your communication cycles have evolved and how each of you experiences those moments. Together, we’ll begin building a foundation of emotional safety, learning to express needs and respond with empathy instead of reactivity.

As therapy continues, you’ll strengthen your ability to communicate, regulate emotions, and repair after conflict — creating a relationship that feels secure, supported, and alive again.

My goal is to help you both rediscover not just how to talk, but how to reach each other — with trust, compassion, and clarity.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic Experiencing is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the mind-body connection to heal from trauma or stress. This type of therapy understands how our bodies hold and respond to stress and overwhelm. It’s based on the idea that traumatic experiences can get “stuck” in our bodies, leading to physical and emotional difficulties.

Our emotional experiences live in our thoughts, nervous system, muscles, posture and breath. Often, our bodies hold onto these experiences in the form of tension, numbness, and inflammation.

In Somatic therapy, we work together to become more aware of physical sensations by tracking the body’s responses. By doing this, your body can gradually release the tension and energy associated with past traumatic events.

The goal is to help your body and nervous system process and resolve the effects of trauma, which can lead to reduced anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and a greater sense of well-being.

It is a gentle and body-centered approach that can support healing at your own pace, while addressing both the psychological and physical aspects of trauma.

Life impacts us all. We carry our experiences with us and this determines how we feel, react, and anticipate the world around us.

I will work with you to feel connected again-To yourself, the relationships that matter to you, and the moments in life that may be slipping away.

When we open ourselves to understand all of the ways we have adapted to survive, we can connect with our inner self more compassionately and work to make things different.
